As this photo was taken, the sun was just beginning to peak above the ocean behind me. It was a mild July morning, and there was a beautiful cool breeze against my back, blowing in from the water. I was walking the beach barefoot, my toes covered with wet sand from the surf I had just been wading through. I was most likely wearing whatever clothes I had slept in. I was so distracted by the way that all of these little pieces of nature were falling perfectly into place that I almost forgot that I had gotten up this early to take photographs. This was my first photo of the day.
