My Favorite Book

Canon EOS 5D Mark II, 24 mm, 1/200 sec, f 14, 100

As you've probably noticed, things have changed around here! For a while there it seemed like I would never be finished, but I'm proud and relieved to finally introduce my new site. It's got all of the stuff you're used to, plus a few new tricks, all wrapped up in a shiny new packaging. The first change is that I've implemented a new "splash" page or landing page when you first enter the site. That page (which you can see again by clicking here) gives you link access to every section of the site as well as my 20 most recent photoblog images. I find this feature nice because it allows someone who hasn't visited in quite some time (or ever, for that matter) to quickly browse my recent posts without clicking through one at a time. Clicking any of the images on the homepage will bring you to that particular images details page, with the full-size photo, description, and comments you've come to know and love. Another new feature is the Lifestream application. The lifestream, which is powered by Amplifeeder, concatenates all of my online activity from Twitter, Flickr, Facebook, Digg, Last.fm, Vimeo, Youtube, and this blog onto one easy to digest page. It probably won't interest most people (who really cares what I'm doing online?) but I think it's a neat way for me to keep track of myself at least. I have also updated all of my portfolio galleries, and added a new section regarding my wedding photography.

Of course, with all of these new bells and whistles came a bit of sacrifice. This site is rather system intensive, both in terms of graphics and system requirements. If you are currently viewing this site with either a small monitor or an outdated web browser, you will certainly find the experience a bit lacking. The minimum resolution supported when I tested the site was 1024x768, which is pretty much standard nowadays. As far as browsers go, everything seems to be working with Firefox 3+, Safari 3+, and IE7+. Yes, this means I've dropped support for the wildly popular (and wildy bloated, unsecure, and unreliable) IE6. If you are using IE6 please do yourself a favor and upgrade.

Please let me know what you think, and let me know what isn't working because I'm sure there are spots that I've missed.
